Our Story
We built Airia because we lived the problem
Edward Nass spent a decade in enterprise IT, most recently running infrastructure at a mid-size financial services firm. When his engineering teams started shipping AI agents in 2024, the same three problems appeared within the first quarter: no one knew what the agents were spending, sensitive documents were passing through LLM vendors without inspection, and finance could not attribute a single dollar of API cost to the teams responsible. Airia is the control plane he wished he had then.
The Team
Four people, one focus
Edward Nass
CEO, Co-founder
Spent a decade in enterprise IT before founding Airia. He saw AI agent deployments outpace governance firsthand and decided the control plane was the missing infrastructure layer. Drives product direction and customer relationships.
Marcus Chen
CTO
Previously principal engineer at a cloud infrastructure company. Built distributed systems at scale before joining Airia to design the routing and policy execution engine at the core of the control plane.
Priya Anand
Head of Engineering
Led backend engineering at an observability company before joining Airia to build the policy engine and cost metering systems. Owns the production infrastructure and API reliability.
Tobias Walsh
Head of Product
Shipped developer tooling at two B2B software companies before joining to define what IT teams actually need from an AI governance product. Shapes the dashboard UX, policy configuration flow, and the API developer experience.
Backing
Angel-backed from day one
Airia is angel-backed and based in Austin, Texas. We are a small team building infrastructure for the enterprise AI governance problem. Our backers have operated large-scale IT platforms themselves, so conversations about deployment architecture and procurement constraints are productive rather than theoretical.
We are hiring for infrastructure and developer-experience roles. If you want to work on a problem that real IT teams are dealing with right now, get in touch at [email protected].
